East African Community’s milestone Project for regional integration resumes as InfoTech takes the lead in implementing

The East African Community (EAC) Secretariat along with the World Bank initiated a joint venture, the EAC Financial Sector Development Regionalization Project, to integrate the region’s financial markets. The implementation that had been temporarily stalled has resumed in all four partner states – Burundi, Rwanda, Tanzania, and Uganda. InfoTech was selected to deploy its Capital Market suite, Capizar ATS, along with a Smart Order Routing system. This would achieve a single market for both Central Banks and Capital Markets and will stimulate intra-regional securities trade and investment. The integration will widen investment options, boost capital inflows and power growth across the region.
