Tanzania Revenue Authority sits on the top of the governmental bodies in Tanzania. TRA strived to automate its business operations and called for other stakeholders such as taxpayers, central and regional government departments and banks to join in the bandwagon of automation by having different systems work together to improve service delivery.

TRA was compelled to provide the systems that would enforce relevant access and authorization controls to all TRA stakeholders, and ensure that the data being accessed is secure and reliable. They had low quality identity data with of the lack of single source of truth for identity, accounts mapping across applications and mapping between application accounts and HR records.
